New documentary celebrates Canadian role in liberating the Netherlands!
The Dutch community in B.C. came together with many Canadians to create a special “75 Years Later: the Sounds of Freedom” Documentary.
The documentary will air on Global BC at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 7.
It’s been 75 years since Canadians helped liberate the Netherlands during the Second World War and created everlasting bonds of friendship between our two countries!
All of the public commemorations and celebrations were cancelled or postponed, including the Liberation Concert in Sunset Beach Park in Vancouver, B.C. The group of people that witnessed this war is shrinking, but their stories are still alive and of great importance.
This broadcast pays tribute to all the 1.1 million Canadians that took part in the war effort and those that liberated our country.
